CUSTOMIZED VIRTUAL LEARNING EXPERIENCES

At EEAbroad, our expertise is immersive, transformative student experiences through in-person travel, virtual learning, or a hybrid of both. Our custom, professionally-produced virtual options support faculty within any learning structure and maximize the student experience with deep understanding before they step foot in-country. By exposing students to new people, cultures, and countries, virtual learning serves as a conduit for intentional future travel and mindful global citizens.

Whether internationalizing an existing syllabus or developing a new course curriculum, our custom virtual options immerse students in new cultures and foster profound learning opportunities, inspiring them to:

“Working with EEAbroad was a great experience. This experience has opened new possibilities for "hybrid" programs that combine virtual and onsite learning. That's very exciting, and this new modality will certainly maximize student learning before, during, and after their time abroad.”

— Christian F. Wilwohl, Dean of Global Education, Providence College

All of our virtual learning offerings are customizable. We can tailor virtual experiences to fit any topic, course, budget, and student audience.

Our modules support a variety of learning structures including synchronous, asynchronous, flipped classroom, and more. Whatever the case, we work to achieve your preferred learning structure and fit your course curriculum.

From coupling virtual learning modules with future onsite travel or combining specific virtual modules that augment a class curriculum, we can make it happen.

I enjoyed the balance of synchronous and asynchronous learning in this class. Some of my other classes were too live or too recorded. With this class, I appreciated the flexibility of the recorded videos and the interaction of the live videos.

Virtual Learning Topics

EEAbroad virtual learning options focus on Cuba and are expanding to include Colombia. Given the decades of stigmatization and misunderstanding in these unique destinations, each country offers ample learning opportunities in a range of topics including:

  • Contemporary Race Issues in Cuba or Colombia

  • Mitigation of COVID-19 in a Socialist Context

  • History of the U.S. - Cuba Embargo

  • Unpacking Cuba’s Economic Model

  • A Cuban Case Study: NostalgiCar

  • Walking Tour of Old Havana

  • Environmental History of Sugar in Cuba

Or simply choose your own custom topic!

I think one of the main ways these modules helped, was the opportunity they gave us to hear from a number of different perspectives within Cuba. In my other courses, we only really hear from our main professor and learn from them. However, these modules allowed us to learn so much more from a number of sources.

Learn Now, Travel Later

Hybrid learning combines virtual and in-person travel experiences in order to learn now and travel later. Our approach educates and engages students about a culture while forming relationships with local contacts before ever stepping foot in-country.

Once on the ground, this means less time in a classroom and more time exploring and interacting with locals which is where the real transformative experiences begin. While hybrid learning is our ideal model, we can incorporate virtual options into all types of learning structures, with or without in-person travel.
